Let's start at the beginning.Â
As a chiId, and up until the age of 19, I competed at a high level in Modern Pentathlon and fencing, even competing for Great Britain.
Although an amazing experience, it was a lot to deal with. It broke my confidence, and I was left anxious and unhappy. It was just too much for me, and I fell depressed in 2016. I realised something had to change, and I needed to quit to be happy, so that's what I did in 2018.Â
However, it wasn't that easy and I was left feeling lost. I went from training 10 times a week to zero, which made my depression worse.Â
Until one day I had had enough, and I set off on a journey to lose weight, but not in the correct way, as I'm sure many of you can relate to. I did the typical 1000 kcals diet and hours of cardio during the week, just for me to  binge on the weekends.Â
It was only when I joined the gym that I realised I need to fuel my body with good food. Â From there I started building up my weights in the gym, sculpting my body, and researching everything as I could. Which led me to complete my personal training courses in early 2021, which was the start of my Online Coaching business: Coached By Melie. All while working as a Research Scientist full time, I was a busy gal. I feel my calling is to help people not fall into the traps I did, I want to go above and beyond, and share what I have learn.Â
My journey of learning has massively changed my life in every aspect, mentally, physically, emotionally, the whole lot. ​
I believe living a healthy lifestyle begins with maintaining a strong and fit body, and this can then relate into every aspect of your life.
